Egypt has inspired both Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie, author of Miss Marple. In 1955, there was a Baker Street film entitled, Sherlock Holmes Movie – The Case of the Laughing Mummy (1955)
The City That Inspired an Agatha Christie Novel was Aswan, a Nubian city in the south of Egypt, on the first cataract of the Nile. Here Agatha Christie wrote one of her stories while she stayed in the Old Cataract Hotel.
